Ka Moana Lu'au - Thanks for an Amazing Night!

Posted by Glory H. on May 6, 2020 11:55:00 PM

A Hawaiian luau is an experience most visitors to Hawaii want to have, and we’re always happy to recommend our favorites. We’ll help you pick the right one for you, and we’ll even help with the reservation.

To make sure we’re providing the best recommendations, we like to visit a luau every couple of months to experience for ourselves. This month, it was Ka Moana Luau

When we heard Chief’s Luau was moving to another part of the island, we were a little disappointed. Chief puts on a great show, but we also really liked the location in Sea Life Park on the East-side of Oahu. When we heard a new luau was moving in, we couldn’t wait to head over and try it out!

Posted by Lauren C. on Jan 7, 2020 8:20:07 AM

There are a lot of luaus to choose from on Oahu, and while a lot of the popular ones are at least a 30-minute drive from Waikiki, there are a few to choose from a little closer to where most our couples stay.

Best Hikes on Oahu

Posted by Lauren C. on Jul 11, 2019 11:19:22 PM

There are no shortage of hikes in Hawaii! From easy trails to restricted areas that we definitely do not recommend, the islands are full of places to explore.

For the avid hikers, we recommend downloading the Alltrails app and carefully read reviews and precautions for each hike. There are very dangerous hikes in Hawaii! Please always think safety first!

Getting out and exploring Hawaii will provide you with some amazing memories, just remember to always wear sunscreen, take water, and do not leave valuables in your car.

We've made a short list of our favorite hikes to get you started ;)

Diamond Head Summit Trail

With stunning, 360-degree views in all directions from Waikiki to Waianae, the Ko'olau Mountains and the Koko Head Crater, it's easy to see why the Diamond Head Summit Trail is one of Oahu's most popular hikes. Located at 4180 Diamond Head Road just 2.5 miles south of Waikiki, the trail head is accessible by car, bike and public transit, and there are restrooms, a food truck, and water fountains available.

Diamond Head is a hike everyone should do at least once!

Getting Around Oahu

Posted by Glory H. on Jan 31, 2019 9:11:00 AM

One of the most common questions we get from couples when making their travel plans is whether they should get a rental car or not. It’s an added expense, after all, and it’s good to know what other options are out there, especially if you're trying to have an affordable destination wedding.

Everyone is different. Some people like to hang out at the hotel, while others like to get out and explore. While there's never a one-size-fits-all answer, we like to provide as much information as possible to our couples and their guests.

In this article, I’ll try to cover all the transportation options available to get around Oahu.

Walking

If you don't mind walking, you can get to a lot of places in Waikiki. From end to end, it’s about a 30-minute walk down Kalakaua Avenue, the main street loaded with shopping, restaurants, and hotels.

Have Guests Coming to Your Hawaii Wedding? Read This!

Posted by Glory H. on Dec 13, 2018 8:32:00 AM

If you’re eloping in Hawaii all you have to worry about is the two of you. You can relax and enjoy yourselves knowing our team will have everything in place for your special day.

If you have guests, on the other hand, you'll need to share with them information to help your day go as smoothly as possible.

Here are some of our most important tips to share with your guests.

1. Be on Time!

We can’t stress the importance of this enough. Your ceremony team is scheduled for a set time, and the last thing we want is for you to feel rushed!

Your ceremony team will arrive early and be ready to meet you and your guests at the meeting point. If your ceremony time is 12:00pm, for example, ideally you’d be set up and ready to go at that time. It’s a good idea to tell your guests they should arrive by 11:45am.

Waikiki Activities and Events

Posted by Teri S. on Aug 16, 2018 11:04:39 PM

You may already know that we have two offices in Waikiki, and about 97% of our couples stay in in the Waikiki area. We recommend Waikiki for lodging because of all the hotel options available, the convenience of the area, and all of the events nearby!

As locals, we have tons of "things to do" that we’d recommend, but we also wanted to let you know about some current events and activities coming up.

Many events in Waikiki happen throughout the year, so if you’re reading this but coming later, you should know there will likely be similar events to choose from. We mainly want to give you an idea of some activities other than enjoying the beaches and natural beauty of Hawaii.
