Hawaii weddings are recognized throughout the world. The process to obtain a marriage license is the same for US citizens or those traveling from abroad. To summarize:
All couples are responsible for applying for and picking up the marriage license.
For couples outside of the United States, please verify your country's legal requirements and check to see if an apostille is needed in addition to the Hawaii marriage certificate.
For your convenience, we do offer in-person consultations to review your wedding details ($195). If this service is added, the wedding coordinator can also issue your marriage license during the consult. (You are still responsible for applying for the license through the link below. The fee is for the consultation, but this does not cover the State of Hawaii Marriage License fee of $65.)
Please refer to the state of Hawaii's eligibility to legally marry. When physically obtaining the license, you both need to be present. Typically, the only legal documentation required is a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport. If previously married, proof of original divorce decree or death certificate only needs to be presented
